Short Story

In the Veldt, a short story by Ray Bradbury, modern technology takes over the roles of the mother, father, housemaid, chef and does all the household chores. This can guide the family in the wrong direction because they are not practicing the art of cooking or leaning or parenting and will lose the skill. "That's just it. I feel like i don't belong here. The house is wife and mother now, and nursemaid. Can i compete with an African veldt? Can i give a bath and scrub the children as efficiently or quickly as the automatic scrub bath can? I cannot. And it isn't just me. It's you. You've been awfully nervous lately." With the house doing everything for the Hadley family, life becomes so simple that basic skills such as cooking and cleaning are lost and the family can only function on an easy going life style.

In our modern society, technology also takes over our lives. We use technology everyday and we don't realize it. You drive to school, you text your friends, you use your laptop. Kids even play video games related to sports such as NBA 2K11. Kids would rather play these games then go outside and play. This is bad because first, they might get addicted and take time away from homework to play and second, they will stop playing the sport itself and lose their talent and skill in it.

Song Review

This is one of my favorite songs. The songs name is Let's Go by Calvin Harris featuring Ne-Yo. I usually listen to this song when i am in the mood to do something inspirational like starting homework or going for a jog or doing a work-out. This song really appeals to me because of the beat. I usually look for a nice beat in a song because I do not really listen to the lyrics because they mostly talk about girlfriends or love or something like that. There are some songs that I like because of the lyrics such as Guardian Angel by Taylor James Williams. The videos above are both songs Let's Go and Guardian Angel

Why i made a Blogger account

This is the first blog I will do for English. I made this blog because i am instructed to by my English teacher. The purpose for me starting to blog is because we have an assignment to post blogs about the 4 units of English we will do and through the semester we will receive guidelines for new blog assignments that will link with the course content.
